Department of Social Welfare and Community Development Begins Sensitisation on LEAP

The Kadjebi District’s Department of the Social Welfare and Community Development will from next week Monday, 29th November 2021 begin an extensive sensitisation drive on the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty Programme commonly known as LEAP. This is to get these community fully informed and involved in the processes of the programme.

This was made known by the Director of the Department, Mr.Isaac Robson Klu, at a management meeting of the Assembly today. He added that in all Thirty-Four (34) communities have been earmarked for this exercise. He added that among issues to be discussed include

a. What is LEAP

b. Who qualifies to receive LEAP

c. Who are disadvantaged members

d. How often and how much do they receive and

e. What are the conditions attached

He added that the exercise will be done within three weeks starting from 29th November to 20th December.
