As part of interventions put in place by the Kadjebi District Assembly to improve upon sanitation, across the District, the Assembly led by the Environment and Sanitation Services Department organized a five-day BaSIS training workshop for District M&E Team, Field Facilitators, Latrine Artisans, CTVs and Material Suppliers. This took place from 15th -19th August, 2022.
The Purpose of this workshop is to ensure that stakeholders and the technical persons involve are abreast with the use of the BaSIS app and the website to ensure effectiveness in data collection on latrines across the District. The training comprised of a power point presentation, group work, experience sharing, field data collection, discussions among others.
Specifically, activities carried out include the following:
- All actors including field facilitators were train on how to use the latrine update tool.
- All actors were train on the use of the BaSIS mobile app
- Field facilitators were trained on how to capture data on CTVs
- Field facilitators and DICCS members were train on how to use the CLTS tools.
- Practical – field data collection
- Web display of field data collected and validation of field data.
- Action plan for data collection on latrine update was developed
Results Achieved
At the end of the training,
- The participants were fully equipped on how to operate with BaSIS
- All stakeholder were registered into the system.
- Participants were trained on the use of the CLTS and latrine update tool
- An action plan was developed for latrine update data collection.
