Kadjebi District’s Department of Agriculture through the Women in Agriculture Development (WIAD) unit supplied some improved vegetable seeds (lettuce, cabbage, sweet pepper, garden egg, okro, pepper- three different types) to ten (10) farmers and six (6) FBO groups across the District during the 3rd quarter 2022. Sixteen (16) farmers out of these received nursery trays to demonstrate to other famers.
The objective of this initiative is to empower women economically by reducing the amount of money spent on vegetable purchases at home and also improve household nutrition. The purpose of the nursery tray is to get farmers to get stronger seedlings, reduce damping off, get healthy seedlings and nursery plants and also to make farmers understand the importance of using the nursery tray.
